Powder coating
Powder coating is the refurbishment of a whole wheel, not just a small part of it. It can be used to either colour match an original shade or totally colour change a wheel. The finish can only be achieved with specialist ovens and equipment to remove old paint, repair any corrosion or damage to then apply a total new coat. It gives an exceptional finish and is extremely durable compared to standard paint.
Powder coating is achieved by spraying a dry powder onto the wheel and then heating it to create a protective gel.
Our standard refurbishment are available in the following powder coating colours:
Gloss or satin black
Light or Dark Anthracite
Silver
White
All wheels booked in at PowderTech go through the same process at the start. Any tyres are removed and to remove any old paint/powder, the wheel is put into our acid baths followed by the vapour blaster. Next, it goes to our prep bench where we get your wheel perfectly ready for powder coating. Once ready, they get powder coated in our coating room. Then the wheels get put into our industrial oven to bake the powder onto them. This gives a much smoother finish and is much more durable than paint. To finish, a coat of lacquer is applied. The wheels are then built back up with your tyres, rebalanced and then assembled back onto your vehicle.
How much is a powder coated wheel refurb?
Our Powder Coated Wheel refurbs are priced per wheel, just add 4 to the basket for a full set:
20” and under is £80+VAT
21” and over is £90+VAT

Our wheel refurbs, that are listed on our website shop, are just for our standard powder coating colours. For any other custom colours such as bronze, gold, red etc these are very hard to list online due to the many different options available.
